重厚感と軽やかさを併せ持つ、新しい公衆トイレの竣工映像・写真

重いはずのコンクリートの箱が浮いている。その意外性にまず驚く。
外から内部を歩く足が見えることで、公衆トイレが持つ独特の閉塞感や不安感が緩和されると同時に、箱から足が生えている、見た目としての愛らしさを感じる。

The concrete box, which is supposed to be heavy, is floating. I was first surprised by this unexpectedness.
The fact that you can see the feet walking inside from the outside alleviates the unique sense of confinement and anxiety that public toilets have, and at the same time, it gives the box a lovely appearance, with feet growing out of it.

側面に窓はなく、上部から光が差し込むことで内部空間が1日の中で劇的に変わっていく様子をタイムラプスを用いて表現した。
内部の各ブースはアコヤ材の板張りで仕上げられ、コンクリートの無骨な内壁との対比によって質感がより際立つ。

There are no windows on the sides, but light shines in from the top, and a time lapse was used to show how the interior space changes dramatically over the course of a day.
The booths inside are finished with Akoya wood panels, which stand out more in contrast to the rugged concrete interior walls.

夕方、内部に灯った光が外に溢れ出て来ると、建築はより存在感を増していく。
従来の公衆トイレの印象を一新する、アートとしてのトイレ。街と建築の境界が魅力的にデザインされた空間の魅力に向き合った。

In the evening, when the light from the interior overflows to the outside, the architecture becomes more presentable.
This is a toilet as art that renews the impression of a conventional public toilet. We confronted the appeal of a space where the boundary between the city and the architecture is designed in an attractive way.
