キース・ヘリング作品と建築の関係の記録

1980年代のアメリカ美術を代表するアーティスト、キース・ヘリングの作品を体感するために設計された中村キース・ヘリング美術館は、「闇から希望へ」というテーマのもと、北川原温によって構想された建築である。

The Nakamura Keith Haring Collection, designed to experience the work of Keith Haring, a leading figure in 1980s American art, is an architectural project conceived by Atsushi Kitagawara under the theme “From Darkness to Hope.”

八ヶ岳南麓の豊かな森の中に配置されたその空間は、地形に沿った動線や光の変化を通して、作品と向き合うための体験そのものを構成している。

Set within the rich forest at the southern foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains, the space is organized through circulation that follows the terrain and the shifting qualities of light, forming the experience itself of encountering the work.

「Keith Haring: Arching Lines 人をつなぐアーチ」と題した企画展示では、キース・ヘリングの没後35年を機に、彫刻作品に焦点が当てられている。描線から立体へと展開した彼の表現は、空間の中で身体的に経験される存在として現れる。

The exhibition “Keith Haring: Arching Lines” marks the 35th anniversary of Haring’s passing and focuses on his sculptural works. Evolving from drawn lines into three-dimensional forms, his practice emerges as something to be physically experienced within space.

森の中で、作品と呼応するように立ち上がる建築の中で、アートと空間は互いに輪郭を保ちながら対峙している。

In the forest, the architecture rises in resonance with the works, where art and space confront one another while maintaining their distinct contours.

本撮影では、展示空間や建築をアーカイヴ的に記録する一方で、その場に生まれる関係や感覚にも目を向けた。

In this project, while the exhibition space and architecture are documented in an archival manner, attention is also given to the relationships and sensations that emerge within the site.

作品と空間のあいだに立ち上がるわずかな緊張や距離、光や視線によって変化するそのあり方をすくい取ることを試みている。

The work attempts to capture the subtle tensions and distances that emerge between the works and the space, as well as the ways in which they shift with light and the viewer’s gaze.
